Support for Animals and Their People

Familiar’s animal chaplaincy is rooted in honoring the independence and uniqueness of each animal humans encounter. Familiar can:

  • Help you celebrate your cat’s Gotcha Day by creating a blessing.

  • Present humane options for handling wildlife on your property.

  • Support you and your animal during their last days or during or after their death.

  • Provide grief resources or support you in ritual making.

  • And more.

Familiar’s chaplaincy work is interfaith, which allows me to create offerings that complement each human’s spiritual, religious, or secular belief system.

Support for Vets and Organizations

Familiar also can come to your vet or organization to provide support for your staff, or to lead staff and volunteers in animal-based celebrations or memorials. Familiar is available to:

  • Lead grief groups for those who need support regarding animal loss, sickness, or death.

  • Create a group memorial for shelter animals.

  • Help host a party celebrating animals who have found homes throughout the year.

  • Hold group or individual talks for individuals experiencing compassion fatigue.

  • And more.

Our Services

  • We’ll get to know each other, assess the situation with your animal companion or organization, and discuss the services needed, 30 minutes, $0.

  • I’ll take time to create a plan for your organization or business, which you will clear. Once we agree on a plan, we’ll choose a day for the group, extend invitations, and meet. This can be a one-off meeting or reoccurring. I will provide a quote after our initial meeting.

  • After our initial meeting, we can work together to find a day, time, and meeting duration that works for your schedule. Most sessions are $50 for an hour, but I work on a sliding-scale and can accommodate your needs.
